The Future of Living Materials @ Avantex Paris

08/02/19

On February 12, the ArtEZ Centre of Expertise Future Makers invites you to take part in an open conversation to explore the possibilities offered by bio-materials in the field of textile-apparel at Avantex Paris.

During this open conversation, scientists and designers involved in research on this topic will discuss the challenges of making a real impact on the production and use of textiles and clothing.
Here we will talk about the research project The Future of Living Materials. This project, a collaboration with Wageningen University & Research, is an excellent example in which scientists from different disciplines (plant sciences, consumer behaviour, circular business models, cultural studies) collaborate with designers who are exploring the possibilities of biomaterials like algae and mycelium.

On behalf of The Future of Living Materials, Daniëlle Bruggeman (professor Fashion, ArtEZ), Jeroen van den Eijnde (professor Product Design & Interior Architecture, ArtEZ), Tjeerd Veenhoven (designer, researcher professorship Product Design & Interior Architecture), Laura Luchtman (designer, researcher KUKKA), Kim Poldner (Professor Circular Business, The Hague University of Applied Sciences and founder of the Circular Fashion Lab at Wageningen University & Research) will take place in the discussion.
