Future Makers at the Dutch Design Week
18/10/17This year Future Makers will present two of its projects on the Dutch Design Week Eindhoven.
Going Eco Going Dutch and Composing the New Carpet
Like last year, we participate in the Work in Progress exhibition organized by the Network Applied Design Research (NADR) on behalf of CLICKNL | NextFashion. Here we show the results of the Raak-MKB project Going Eco Going Dutch (ArtEZ, Saxion) and the project Composing the New Carpet with work by Eric Klarenbeek, Marcel Kronenburg (CarpetsforBuildings), Siem Lenders (Studio Unitt), Tjeerd Veenhoven, Richard Vijgen and students ArtEZ Product Design.

The Composing the New Carpet project is also presented at the CLICKNL DRIVE festival as an example of an Public Private Collaboration. Project leader Jeroen van den Eijnde and designers / researchers Eric Klarenbeek and Tjeerd Veenhoven explain the project. Peter Koppert of Modint and attendees in the room will be asked about the importance of the research results.

In the context of both exhibitions, the event Work in Progress On Stage will take place. Ten lecturers present their research and will debate, led by Design curator Jorn Konijn, about the role of the designer, the end user and the cooperation partners in their research. ‘Design Specialist’ Gert Staal is invited to reflect critically on the projects in this debate. At the end of the afternoon you can visit the exhibition, where a festive drink takes place at 16.30.
